As Norton Athletic FC continues its exciting journey both on and off the pitch, we’re delighted to announce that Norton Reserves will officially become Norton Development ahead of the 2026/27 season.
This isn’t simply a name change. It reflects a change in purpose.
Norton Development has been created to become the club’s player development pathway, bridging the gap between youth football and senior football while providing a platform for ambitious players to progress into our First Team.
Competing in the Anglian Combination Division Four, the Development Team offers the ideal environment for young players to experience the physical, tactical and mental demands of adult football, while continuing to develop within the Norton Athletic FC philosophy.
Our vision is simple.
Every talented young player should have a genuine opportunity to progress into the First Team.

The Development Team won’t simply exist to fulfil fixtures. Its purpose is to develop players capable of representing Norton Athletic FC at the highest level possible.

Too many talented young players stop playing football at 18 because the transition into adult football can feel daunting.
At Norton Development, we’ll help make that transition.
You’ll continue to improve your game in a positive environment, surrounded by experienced coaches and senior players who understand how important those first steps into adult football can be.

With major investment already taking place at The Highfield — including our new clubhouse, improved pitch, enhanced facilities and long-term plans for floodlights and a 3G pitch — we’re building a football club that provides opportunities for players of all ages for many years to come.
